This Continuing Education Program (CEP) webinar will be led by Tiffanye Vargas, PhD, Robbi Beyer, PhD, and Margaret Flores, PhD. This webinar is worth 1.5 CEP credits.
The webinar will provide an overview of Universal Design for Learning (educational approach to teaching, learning, and assessment drawing on new brain research and technologies to respond to individual differences; Rose & Meyer, 2006). In addition it will show how coaches can apply UDL to various situations within ultimate with a focus on coaching strategies to create an effective practice environment and inclusive activities.
One key area that will be addressed is how coaches can better help players on the autism spectrum.
Dr. Vargas is a professor of sport psychology at Cal State Long Beach and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant with the USOPC.
Dr. Flores has a PhD in Special Education and is currently a professor at Auburn University.
Dr. Beyer is a professor at Cal State Los Angeles who specializes in training teachers to deliver adapted activities.
