Athletic trainers will be onsite starting 30 minutes before games start and throughout the day. They are available for taping, injury assessment and basic first aid, and they are located next to tournament HQ. If an emergency arises, call 9-1-1 and alert tournament HQ.
During the captains' meating each team will be provided a handout regarding concussion protocols. Coaches and chaperones are expected to monitor their players and alert the medical staff or tournament organizers with concerns.
Inclement Weather
Cedar Park Parks and Recreation Dept will make any necessary decisions regarding field conditions prior to play each day.
Tournament officials will monitor both incoming storms and heat conditions. All communications regarding weather will be communicated through the GroupMe, and then in person, field by field.
Lightning: In the event of lightning, everyone is expected to exit the fields, take shelter in cars, and play will resume 20 minutes after lightning has been determined to be outside the area.
Heat: USUA Wet Bulb Globe Temperature Guidelines will be in effect, with transitions signaled by tournament organizers. Austin Ultimate will provide each coach a handout that describes the symptoms of heat related illness. Coaches and chaperones are expected to monitor their players and alert the medical staff or tournament organizers with concerns.
Provisions
Tents: Austin Ultimate will bring 10 tents to the fields; first come first served.
Food: Tournament central will have limited food options (granola bars, chips). Teams are encouraged to provide their own snacks. Water will be provided between each field. Report in the groupme if a water jug needs to be refilled.
Observers
Observers will not be officially staffed for this tournament. If a team wishes a particular game to be observed, please alert tournament organizers as far in advance of the game as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate the reqeust, based on 1) agreement from both teams 2) specifics of request (active versus resolution of disputed calls) and 3) availability of personnel.
