The High School Certification program will cover building your coaching values, professionalism with a youth team, inclusion, player leadership, Spirit of the Game (and self-officiating), and building a more efficient practice using the American Development Model.
Coaches of teams at any level and leaders in the ultimate community are encouraged to attend. To register you must have an active coach level membership.
To register for and attend the clinic, you must have a current coach membership and be current with your background check and SafeSport training.
You must attend the entire clinic to be eligible to take the certification exam. The manual will be sent to you after the clinic as a .pdf as well as the link to take the test once the clinic facilitators have verified attendance.
If you have questions about the clinic, please contact the clinic organizer.
Clinic Refund Policy
If you cannot attend a clinic you registered for you can 1) request a full refund for a clinic or 2) transfer your registration to another already scheduled clinic. Contact the Youth and Education Manager (email@example.com) at least one business day before the clinic you are registered for. If you do not notify USAU before the clinic, your request for a refund or re-scheduling may be denied.
The High School clinic focuses on coaching philosophy and some fundamentals of coaching. It is not a skills and/or tactics clinic. The clinic is highly participatory; this is not a "sit and be lectured to" clinic. You will need to come prepared to be introspective and share! The topics covered in the three hour 15 minute are:
Spirit of the Game/Self-Officiating
Player Leadership and Team Culture
Practice and Long-Term Athlete Development
Please note that Triangle Ultimate has generously agreed to pay for this clinic for coaches in its area.
