Washington Men's Sectionals will play as scheduled Sept 9-10. We will continue to monitor the AQI, and if the air quality deteriorates, play be delayed or stopped for the health of our participants. Captains should keep in touch with your Sectional Coordinator for further details and updates.

Sockeye and Furious George have automatic byes to Regionals.
 
Nine teams will be competing at Sectionals.
 
The top three teams will receive a bid to Regionals.
 
Teams each get a timeout in overtime (ie: tied at 14's, game to 15) regardless of how many they have used before. 
 
Pool A:
Games to 11, win by 2, hard to 13
Half at 6
Hard cap at 75 minutes
1 TO per half plus a floater
When cap comes on, finish the point. If the game is not tied, it is over.
(There is potential for a soft cap to be implemented. Soft @ 55 minutes if so)
The fifth seed at the end of the day Saturday will not have any games Sunday per USA Ultimate 9 team championship series formats.
 
Pool B:
Games to 15, win by 2, hard to 17.
Half at 8
Soft cap at 80 minutes
Hard cap at 100 minutes
2 TO's per half
When soft cap comes on, finish the point and add two to the highest score.
When hard cap comes on, finish the point. If the game is not tied, it is over.
 
 
Sunday:
Games to 15, win by 2, hard to 17.
Half at 8
Soft cap at 80 minutes
Hard cap at 100 minutes
2 TO's per half
When soft cap comes on, finish the point and add two to the highest score.
When hard cap comes on, finish the point. If the game is not tied, it is over.
 
 
The final qualifying teams may wish to play a 2/3 placement game.
 
The game can be skipped if:
Case 1
1 - It is the last game of the tournament for both teams.
2 - Both teams are already guaranteed to advance to the next stage of the
Championship Series (or both teams have already been eliminated from advancing).
3 - Neither of the teams wishes to play the game.
If ALL of the above conditions are met, then the game may be left un-played. The
final placement of the teams will be determined based on their current standing in
the format.
 
Case 2
1 – It is the last game of the tournament for both teams.
2 – The teams have played twice already in the tournament and one team has a 2-0
record against the other team.
If ALL of these conditions are met, then the game will not be played. The team with
the 2-0 record will be placed above the other team in the final tournament rankings.
